The Truth Is Out There
Perhaps because of the tendency of pundits to refer to the jury trial as a "search for truth," many of my clients are unusually eager to go to trial, confident that when the truth is revealed to the jury, a not guilty verdict will be guaranteed.
I tell these clients that, as unjust as it may seem, the truth does not matter. What matters is what will be believed.

Well obviously the truth doesn't matter to your clients, cause most them guiltier than the Grinch at Christmas. If the truth comes out at trial, they screwed.
Well yes. Usually it would be better for the client (as it was for OJ, for example) if the jury were to believe something other than the "truth" as related by the prosecution witnesses.
