When the ant-gang STEP Act was passed, Bill Lockyer (then a State Senator) predicted that the Act was so constitutionally flawed that it would be laughed out of court. He then became the State Attorney General and defended the Act for 8 years in the Appellate Courts. Just goes to show that attorneys are just prostitutes in suits, I suppose.
